At least seven of the signers who were paid here may be found in Thomas L. Cook's Palmyra and Vicinity as prominent citizens (Palmyra, 1930; see index). Some also appear in Backman, The First Vision (SLC, 1980). Neal P. McCurn (1926- ) is a New York State attorney and legislator. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and received his law degree from Syracuse University in 1950. He served as state senator from the 46th district and as president of the Syracuse Common Council, and as of 2009 is a senior judge of the United States District Court, Northern District of New York.
